After a long and successful career in Telecommunications in the 1980s, John saw a gap in the chauffeur & automotive travel sector for a company that could offer outstanding customer service combined with an element of luxury travel and he launched Chauffeur Travel in 1994.
The Company has grown considerably in the last 2 decades after quickly establishing an enviable reputation for providing a top class and very reliable service for senior executives, wedding parties, tour groups and travel to and from events.
Prior to his recent retirement John was also part of a leadership event team, travelling to different events within the UK for the benefit of a major public communications company.
James spent an enjoyable and fruitful decade in management within the construction industry gaining experience by working on a variety of interesting projects within the UK.
Moving into the family business eight years ago, James was initially tasked with business development and he has grown the Chauffeur Travel clientele and brand reputation considerably.
Moving to now run the company, James is very much involved in the day to day running of the business and has strong plans to continue the steady growth as well as develop new services while staying true to the founding ethos of high levels of reliability, luxury and service.
Bath born and locally educated, Ian has a great passion for the City of Bath as well as for customer service making Chauffeur Travel an obvious choice when it comes to his professional life. Ian worked in the automotive sector, enjoying a successful career in sales, building strong working relationships and priding himself with customer care. Working for Chauffeur Travel gives Ian great satisfaction and is an ideal choice for his professional life.
Paul Ralph recently joined our family chauffeur business in 2015. Paul is a retired Police officer who worked for Wiltshire Police for 30 years including time as a specialised firearms officer. Paul has a keen interest in local history and is happy to try and answer any questions you may have when travelling around the local attractions. He now lives near Trowbridge with his wife and teenaged children. When not driving he is kept very busy supporting his children in their interests with the Pony Club and local rugby team.
Chris was brought up and educated in Wiltshire but since then has lived mostly in and around Bath. After a banking career working in London, the Channel Islands and throughout the South West, he has most recently worked as a tour guide. He is enthusiastic to share his love of Bath, the Cotswolds and Wiltshire's historic sites and villages with visitors from across the world. He enjoys meeting Chauffeur Travel's clients and likes the variety of life as a Chauffeur.
Following a successful career in sales for a global electronics brand, Steve has brought to us his many years of experience in customer service. He has a keen eye for detail, and a personal commitment to providing the best experience for our clients. When he’s not behind the wheel, Steve can usually be found with his head in a book as he studies for a post-graduate qualification. Or he might be playing or listening to music, which is his main passion. He is also a keen runner, and spends quite a lot of time pounding the pavements in training for the next big run.
Rod served with the Avon & Somerset Police for 30 years and was a class 1 driver in cars and motorcycle. He was involved in accident investigation
and was a member of the Royal Escort Team.
He then ran a retail shop with his wife before becoming a Chauffeur.He has been a qualified Chauffeur for the past 8 years and thoroughly enjoys looking after the Chauffeurtravel clients; using his extensive skills as a driver to get every client to their destination relaxed and on time. His hobbies are Golf and his competition Land Rover.
Mike served with the Avon and Somerset Constabulary for 31yrs and during that time he served on the Traffic department where he qualified as a Class 1 driver and performed many operational roles within the force. His main specialism was within Firearms, during which time he was fully involved in tactical operations and performed personal protection duties for a number of years. He became head of the Operational Training department with responsibility for delivering all Firearms, Public Disorder and Driver Training to the force.
Mike enjoys meeting people and delivering a quality service to our clients. He is a keen golfer and regular supporter of Bath rugby team.
David McMullin retired from Wiltshire Police in October 2011, after 30 years service, predominately in uniformed operations.
He is a Police Trained Advanced Driver, and a member of the Institute of Advanced Motorists. During his Police Service, David performed duties in a number of different departments and at different operational, strategic and managerial levels. In the early part of his service, he spent a number of years within the Traffic Department, as well as serving as a Specialised Firearms Officer, gaining driving and policing experiences in many different and challenging locations and conditions. He was an accredited Nationally Trained Police Hostage Negotiator, and a Silver Commander in both Firearms and Public Order scenarios.
Stephen lives in West Wiltshire, very much a family man and loves driving, from a short hop to Bath to all points around the UK and Europe, ensuring his passengers arrive relaxed however long the journey. He likes to play scrabble in his spare time, regularly entering online competitions, and Quad Biking when the weather is nice, a keen advocate of car safety and very interested in the latest car safety and technology, although not self driving cars!
Paul Johnson has recently retired after over thirty years service with the police; both in the military where he was stationed in West Germany, West Berlin and the Falkland Islands, and in the civil police in London before settling in Wiltshire with his wife Michelle and his children Luke and Emily, now adults themselves.
Paul has a love of dogs, owning a pair of border collies, and is a keen motorcyclist. After retirement Paul briefly continued to work with Wiltshire Police as a driver for the prisoner transport team based in Salisbury and enjoys putting his driving experience to good use looking after his clients ensuring that they receive an excellent service.
Tracy retired in December 2016 after serving as a Police Officer in Wiltshire for 30 years having worked most of her service in a specialist team. As such she is qualified to Advanced driver level which ensures a smooth and safe journey. She has become a chauffeur in order to continue to meet interesting people and, along the way, to pick up top travelling tips as she likes to travel.
When not travelling or driving, Tracy spends her time with her horse, dog and family.
Dave is based in Wiltshire and joined the Chauffeur Travel team in 2016 and really enjoys meeting Chauffeur Travel clients. He is an Institute of Advanced Motorist and likes to make progress when safe to do so. Dave was a keen local footballer playing for Melksham, Devizes and Pewsey.
He is a keen golfer and member at Bowood Golf Club and plays off an 18 handicap.
Vicky is a vital member of the team, bringing all elements of behind the scene work together in a smooth and efficient manner. Implementing day to day functional tasks such as telephone enquiries, filing, emails and website booking forms and organising diaries. Vicky ensures all behind the scene elements work and the company functions smoothly.
